10 Egg-cellent Beauty Buys To Add To Your Easter Basket

To be honest, I almost forgot that Easter was upon us since I’m so used to it falling around the middle of April, not on April Fool’s Day. (I can only imagine what kind of crazy pranks will pop up on social media this weekend!) But the holiday brings back a wave of memories of my mom getting me dolled up in pastel frills for a few photos before heading off for Easter service and then a slew of Easter egg hunts, with the youngest of us popping open all of our collected plastic eggs to scoop the trinkets and treats housed inside.

Many might think that Easter baskets are just kids’ stuff, but why should the little ones have all the fun? I figure it’s a fun opportunity to treat yourself, especially during Mercury retrograde. In keeping with the spirit of the celebration, I’ve found a slew of beauty buys that are sure to soothe and tighten skin, pump up the volume of your locks, and make your beauty look absolutely egg-cellent (you knew that was coming!), using the power or inspiration from eggs themselves. After all, egg whites are a classic DIY mask ingredient thanks to the albumin’s ability to help tighten pores for a smoother-looking visage. And according to Refinery29, the yolk comes packed with proteins, vitamins, and fatty acids to help nourish skin and hair and hang onto hydration. So whether you’re want to start small on the egg trend or splurge on something extra special for your skin, there’s a little something for everyone.

  1. Beautyblender Chill, $20
A Beautyblender is must for any makeup maven, but they don’t all have to be pink. This new turquoise-colored Chill option instantly caught my eye, as it could not only help you deliver a natural finish to your makeup but would also look right at home amongst the cellophane grass and Peeps in your basket. Just be sure that a little one doesn’t swipe it before you get a chance to play with it!
  2. Too Cool for School Egg Mellow Body Butter, $29
Eggs are just meant for your face (or your stomach) — it’s great for the rest of you as well! This body butter blends rich egg yolks, shea butter, and seven oils to smooth and deeply nourish the skin all without a greasy finish. This is the perfect way to ensure that any skin we show off this season looks and feels healthy.
  3. Lush Cosmetics Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt, $7.95
Everyone went wild for Lush’s Easter array of bath bombs and bubble bars. But this gilded goodie might just beat out the rest of the collection thanks to its moisturizing blend of olive oil and shea butter and, of course, the gold glitter that’s guaranteed to leave you and your bathtub feeling 24K luxurious. Add a flute of champagne or prosecco and you’re set!
  4. Botanic Farm Salmon Egg Hydro Gel Eye Patch, $30
A long night of dying and decorating eggs and an early morning to hide them can leave you looking and feeling like a zombie. But these eye patches have the power to make any evidence of it disappear. The caviar’s key ingredient helps eliminates dark circles and puffiness while the snail slime (a surprising but serious skincare component) increases skin’s collagen and elastin production.
  5. Oh K Egg White Glowing Skin Sheet Mask, $12
I can never say no to a sheet mask, so I tend to keep a few stashed for when my skin needs a quick boost before an event. This one uses egg whites to not only hydrate and smooth skin but also bolster brightness for a radiant complexion, making it an easy impulsive purchase to add to your cart full of spring fashion essentials from ASOS.
  6. TonyMoly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm, $20
TonyMoly is known for the pretty packaging on its skincare solutions, but this is one plastic egg you don’t want in the hands of little ones! An awesome option for the overly oily, this balm uses egg whites to gently exfoliate while a killer combo of burdock, lemon, hop, peppers, sylvia, and soap grass to keep your sebum under control.
  7. Alterna Caviar Clinical Daily Densifying Foam, $38
Eggs are often mixed into our homemade hair masks so its proteins can help strengthen our strands. But instead walking around smelling like an omelet, this Alterna foam uses a different kind of egg to deliver the much-needed amino acids to help rebuild strands from the inside out as well as bump up your hair’s volume, which is great for a bombshell blowout.
  8. I Heart Revolution Surprise Unicorn Makeup Egg, $7.00
The internet has fallen head over heels for these Easter appropriate additions to the makeup counter. Each egg eye palette comes with five shimmer shadows along with one light and one dark matte shadow, and the collection comes in a variety of coordinated colors. Plus you really can’t beat the price for something so suited for the season.
  9. Perricone MD OVM, $170
I’ll admit that many will get some sticker shock, but this moisturizer is meant to pack a powerful punch against signs of aging. The treatment gives skin a bouncier, well-hydrated, and radiant appearance using the nutrients, proteins, and peptides found in eggshell membranes as well as vitamin C ester and vitamin E.
  10. iN.gredients Nourishing Egg Sleeping Mask, $5.00
Making sure your skin is healthy and hydrated is key to scoring naturally radiant skin. And sleep masks, like this one from iN.gredients that uses egg yolks to help hold on to hydration, have become the secret weapon to scoring that brighter skin overnight!
