#OnMyVanity: Aquis Quick-Dry Hair Towel

omv-aquis-towel-1

I receive a slew of samples, and when I find something I like, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

When you have as much hair as I do, it takes forever for my strands to dry, especially when I regularly rock a top knot to keep my curls tight. The problem is that my hair is still damp once I let my hair down (even after a night’s sleep and a commute into the city), leaving my curls prone to stretching and breakage. A regular towel is fine enough when you’re about to heat style your strands into submission but can cause serious frizzing if you’re letting your locks air dry.

#OnMyVanity: Ole Henriksen’s POWER Bright Kit

I receive a slew of samples, and when I find something I like, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

There are day trips to the beach, weekends in the Hamptons, a week down the shore, or a few hour spent sitting by a rooftop pool are just a few of the ways we’re all trying to soak up the sun. But even with sunscreen slathered on every two hours, skin can still be damaged, further darkening any spots on the skin, dulling the complexion, and causing pre-mature aging, so brightening is essential to maintaining a clear complexion. But while moisturizers and serums can up to four weeks to begin to see results, Ole Henriksen has just given me everything needed for a gorgeous glow in just half an hour!

I receive a slew of samples, and when I find something I like, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Color correctors are the new product type du jour for 2016 as makeup mavens become more obsessed with the art of crafting a flawless face. These makeup musts are used to neutralize rather than cover up blemishes, sallowness, and dark circles and have become the trick up the sleeve of many who want that fresh-faced look without weighing down their skin with loads of layers to achieve it. But while most of the iterations are meant to be mixed with your complexion products, Hourglass took a more multifaceted approach with it’s new Ambient Light Correcting Primer.

#OnMyVanity: My Summer Curl Cocktail

I receive a slew of samples, and when I find something I like, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Finding the product formula that fulfills all of your hair needs takes time and patience, especially if you’re a curly girl. From the heavy pomades that shellacked my strands to the mousses that left my coif crunchy, I’ve pretty much been there and done that. But over the years, I have learned what works for my 3a/3B hair texture, and the industry at large has made serious strides towards deciphering what works for every type of curl out there. Case in point: Sephora recently launched a hub, complete with video styling tutorials, to educate customers on what types of products they should reach for depending on their curl type. I’m hoping it becomes a permanent part of the site, as so many may still be in the dark about get the most out of their mane.

Not to mention with summer unofficially here, I have to bid goodbye to blowouts, lest I sweat it out in the subway and start to frizz. With so many brands rolling out curl lines, I decided to roll up my sleeves and start sampling which beauty buys will withstand everything the season has to throw at my tresses.

I receive a slew of samples, and when I find something I like, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Regardless of your type, hydration is key for healthy skin. I re-learned this lesson recently after handling a wacky winter and an unsettled spring with my skin completely going out of whack. We’re talking a tight forehead, oily cheeks, and dry skin around my nose. Even a humidifier didn’t do much to help my moisturizer do its job!

I receive a slew of samples, and when I find something I like, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Multiple sticks are nothing new these days, but they have increasingly become essentials for those who need to get glam on the go. And with the recent launch of Milk’s makeup line, I was curious to see what the hype was all about since it flew off the shelves faster than retailers could keep up with. So as soon as I spotted a few of the sticks on UrbanOutfitters.com, I immediately clicked “Add to Cart.” And once I got my hands on it, I shared my take on the stick on Snapchat.
